A: Are they a troop?
B: Do troops score?

BRB p123 spells out the basic scoring and denial units.
Some of the missions have mission specific rules for scoring units.
There are a few codex specific rules for scoring units.
Units that make up an IG IP have no special scoring rules, thus they are scoring units.
