Just wondering does a Damsel/Prophetess get a 6+ armour save on a horse and a 5+ on a barded horse?

No reason why they wouldn't. Just because they can't wear armor doesn't mean that overrules the mounted/barding rules granting a save.

I suggest you don't believe anything posted by thedarkavenger unless confirmed by other regular posters here at Dakka. He has shown he is incapable of basic English comprehension.

Why Bother? Because of the Lance formation, your Damsel / Prophetess will very rarely actually be IN the first row of combat, so they don't generally need to take saves in close combat anyway.

Damsels often leave the unit if it looks like things are going down badly. In that time before she can hit a new unit she is vulnerable. a 5+ armor and the Blessing can keep her alive till she finds more protectors.

Ya the 5+ save is good for leaving a unit since you get the blessing ward save as well, since you can leave if you think you are about to hit a combat that they are going to lose. So you can preserve your ward save. A lot of times though I find myself taking the risk and just leaving them on normal horses and hoping for the best and taking a few more M@A or Bowmen.
