Subject: New to LotR, had this deal fall into my lap

Hey everyone, while browsing at my LGS today, I came across their LotR section, which is currently being clearanced because of how it hasn't been selling. I've been somewhat interested in it for a few months now, and took this opportunity to pick up a few things:
-Mines of Moria for $40
-The old (24-man) box of Moria goblins for $20
-The old (24-man) box of Mordor orcs for $20
I managed to get all of that for slightly less than what Moria costs at retail. Now, my question is: what should I get to further expand the Mordor and Moria armies?

I'd say a troll or two and some characters wouldn't go amiss to give your forces a little hitting power (maybe a character and a captain for each army)
aside from that (i.e: other men), I'd say get a few more specialist troops, be it cavalry, heavy infantry, whatever.

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.
corpsesarefun: Thank god I missed be nice to shrike day.
greenskin lynn: because of all the skittles and soda, you basically live off sugar water, like some sort of freakish human-hummingbird hybrid. |

I was thinking some warg riders and wild wargs, then maybe another box of Mordor Orcs for infantry/cavalry, and the four-pack of finecast commanders

warg riders are always a pain to fight against
I'd run someone like Gothmog to help them out a bit
as for the commanders, banners, in my experiece, usually aren't worth the points, though captains do their fair share.

I know that infantry has to run in the 12:1 ratio, is it the same for cavalry? Or are they 6:1?

Cavalry still count as one model, so 12. It's just in most armies, players only tend to run 6 because that's what comes in one box.

Ah gotcha. One more question, I was looking through the army book and noticed that there is no entry for just wargs with no riders. Are they only used in the expansion?

ah- in the main rulebook (and I think the fallen realms sourcebook), there's wild wargs, though they're not great in rules terms.

Yeah the GW website has them in the Mordor section but you take them with Moria, but you could always ally in a warband of wild wargs.

Ah, I'll keep them then. I'm also planning on doing Moria, so things will work out then.
Have there been any rumors on what figures the Hobbit line will include?

That's a lot of "Adventure" sets... I wonder if it's just scenery, or if it comes with minis.
Also, I'm digging the excessive amount of Wargs on it. Me gusta
