So, ive just started playing warmachine, and i have a 15pt list all worked out. I wanted an army that was cheep, and with everything im planning, it should all come to less than the cost of a heldrake.

so here it goes:

warcaster:
Iron lich asphixious

warjacks:
2x deathrippers

2x nightwretchs

cankerworm

The tyranids need only one tactic: OMNOMNOMNOM

So if you take away the deathrippers and cankerworm you have $45 to play around with trying to get 13 points of models. I suggest taking these away as they won't do much when you already have 2 nightwretches for a list and very rarely would you ever had 5 lights in a cryx list.

Viable options points for cost:

So obv Gaspy + 2 nightwretches is ~$30

Seether ($21) + Warwitch Siren x 2 ($8 each)...~$40.....Best buy of the options for starting, but you may not use the seether much after you play a bit so other more expensive/useful options are below:

Other useful units(but these WILL cost you more then you want, but be 100x more useful then 4 nodes to start).

Full Raiders(min pack is $24 + 2 blisters to max it..$10 each) + Seawitch UA($10) + Siren ($8)......~$63..........Best best buy money/models usefulness

Full Bloodwitches($35) + UA ($8-10) + Cankerworm ($8)....~$55.........3rd best buy money/models usefulness

Blackbanes Ghost Raiders (min box is $23, 2 blisters at $10 each + Warwitch Siren x2 ($8).....~$60.........5th best buy money/models usefulness

Full Mech Thralls (buy 2 min boxes at $20 each) + Necrosurgeon($13) + Warwitch Siren ($8) + Cankerworm ($15)........~$76..........2nd best buy money/models usefulness

Full Bane Thralls($50) + UA ($20) + Warwitch Siren ($8).........~$78.........4th best buy money/models usefulness

There are a variety of other options that are as or more expensive and less generally useful then these choices as well.

Nicely done SilverSaint. All looks good but could the battlebox be used to get cheap/cheaper warjacks?

I commonly forget about battlegroup boxes since I find them restrictive, but the cryx battlebox could be considered cheaper as you can get it for ~$35. You get 2 deathrippers (worse then nightwretches in most cases, but is a minor deal), a defiler(a solid arcnode if you have an extra point (the best cryx arcnode ignoring points cost due to its spray) and a slayer...which is meh except with Mort.

If you plan to use Deneghra...the cryx battlebox is a phenomenal buy due to the cost/models you get (Denny is $8, 2 Deathrippers are $13 for the pack of 2, 2 Defilers are $15 for a pack of 2 and in reality you will never use more then 1, and the slayer is $28). If you want to use any other caster the cryx battlebox is simply not worth the cost monetary wise, but ya for Denny its like paying 8+13+15+(lets say a non-magnetized slayer is worth $15) = $51 of models for about ~$35 due to Ebays awesomeness.

For just the jacks....the battlebox is basically worth it for getting warjack models (considering 2 deathrippers are $13 and to get a single defiler you have to pay $15 for the pack of 2 where you will only ever use 1, thats $28 right there, so you get Denny and a Slayer for another $7 which is worth it).

The question is how much money do you want to spend, if you are fine with spending an extra $30 you will get way more "useful" models if you consider the faction as a whole, but if you aren't then the battlebox could save you some money for starting and seeing if you like Warmachine.

Namely the cryx Battlegroup box + Gaspy + a Warwitch Siren will cost you like $60 ($15 less then you wanted to spend at max) with shipping and the list below is exactly 15 points for starting.

pGaspy
-Slayer
-Defiler
- Nightwretch x2

Warwitch Siren

I ran this as a 15pt MM list and it worked really well

pGaspy
Cankerworm
RipJaw
DeathRipper
Reaper

its hard to deal with arc nodes, and a reaper that can move things out of the way when you have pGaspy and his feat staring you down.

Now with 100% more blog....

HOLY MOLY, I use the same MM set up at 15 points as well. It's super effective :p

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
