They do not have MoN, they are just faq'd to be able to take up to 35 with no other options.

They may not have the Mark of nurgle, however, are they followers of nurgle?

The rules don't state it explicitly, so I'm afraid not. RAI, they should be.

I knew they did not, i was just hoping a slight chance i missed it somewhere. RAi to me does not matter as i only play as to what is in the rule book, not what i think the rule book means. Mods can close the thread if they wish i have no intention for this to turn into a 20 page argument about raw vs rai.

I could go either way with Zombies being followers of Nurgle.

On one hand, they are nurglefied people that are causing casualities.

On the other hand, they are not willing followers but instead reanimated corpses.

it is specific that Typhus zombies are not zombies in the new faq '''.......they are cultist, with FnP and slow and purposeful and may not take any options except the purchase of more models and THEY DON'T HAVE MARK OF NURGLE...'''

epidmus tally especifies that only demon models of nurgle and units with the mark of nugle can be benefit with the especial rule.....

still there is a lot o people killing their own zombies or cultist with Destroyer of the Hive in order to Buff their own nurgle marines, and are charging to whatever they can in 1st turn, i even heard of charging your own quad gun in order to use destroyer of the hive..........still stupid tactic you loose ur cultist and im not sure but can even destroy your quad gun doing that.

I believe the Tally mearely gives Daemons of Nurgle and units with the Mark of Nurgle as examples. Its not an exaustive list.

Yea no, they are not followers of nurgle. They are just unwilling reanimated corpses.

On a funny note they still have a champion with the champion of chaos rule.

Have fun with that one folks.

Also, don't know if anyone noticed, or maybe I'm just reading something wrong...Do Zombies now RAW have ccw and pistol? Becuse the part about 'armed with one weapon for clubbing to death" is actually missing in Errata.

Actually those are just the 2 examples it lists, right after it states any followers of Nurgle

If you want to get really pedantic about the Tally, you could argue that only Daemons of Nurgle and models with Mark of Nurgle count, because the paragraph says, "...followers of Nurgle (i.e. Daemons of Nurgle and models with the Mark of Nurgle, both friends and enemies)..." (emphasis mine).

'i.e.' means "that is" or "in essence." It clarifies the previous statement with an explanation of what it means. Thus the phrase "follower of Nurgle" is clarified to mean Daemons/Marked units.

If it had said "e.g." then the zombies could be included, since the daemons/marked units would only be given as examples in that case. Since that is NOT the wording of the paragraph, a strict reading says that only Daemons of Nurgle and models with the Mark benefit from the tally.

That said, I have no problem with players using the zombies as "followers of nurgle." Typhus/Tallyman lists are pretty fun to see and the more zombies you have, the less stuff you have to increase the tally (at range anyhow), so I wouldn't imagine it dominating at tourneys or whatever.

I think it may do very well competitivly, but not because of the Tally. It will be because trying to kill 300+ zombies in 6 turns is a nearly impossable task.

Until you bring in 2 heldrakes that lay down their template at srt 6 ap3. Past 3 games i have played with them drakes, average of atleast 15-20 models die from the three drakes.

I do appreciate everyone's input on the silly question i asked. I always always play by what is written in the rule book. I always read, read, and read again everything i can before i ask a question (sometimes i am just blind) This was simply more of a 'pray i missed something' type of question.

I agree with the above, except substituting "faithful to the rules, honest, and not desirous of gaining an unintended advantage" for "pedantic".

The Tally rules define what they mean by a follower of nurgle. Zombies don't qualify.

Not going off topic here, but the FAQ update to the Plague Zombies rule does not mention that the Zombies cannot use their ranged weapons. Am I being TFG here or can the Zombies now use their Autopistols?

Blairsville,PA

if you mean use them as clubs then yes. because it says -grabs codex-"Any guns are used STRICTLY for the purpose of clubbing their victims to death' that is exactly what is in the codex

But that rule has been completly replaced by the FAQ update.

It would appear they can shoot their autopistols now.

Obvious oversight is obvious. That errata is just supposed to replace the first sentence in that rule, not the entire rule.

if you go that route than the rule to nominate them is also gone.

Well, if what is in the codex, is replaced as it says with what is in the FAQ..then yes..you can shoot them.

By that same token, so has the phrase which allowed you to nominate units as Plague Zombies, so now, we have a strong definition of what constitutes a Plague Zombie, but no way to take them because they never appear as a valid option in the army list and we have no way to create them other than just selecting them from the army list wherever their "mysteriously absent" unit entry is.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

So either the plague zombies can't be chosen, or they can't fire auto pistols.
There's one sane way to read it and one insane way.
