Hi guys,
When I found out gw were replacing their metal models with resin I was delighted. How wrong I was.......
Just started working with these fine cast resin and most things I have are not straight. Does anyone have any tips for straightening out swords and things that are not straight? Do you have to heat up the model or something?
Thanks guys

I've never worked with Finecast, but blowdryer or warm water has worked well for me with other resin models.

I've had that problem before, you can either call GW for a replacement if its really bad, or heat it up with hot water or a hairdryer and bend it back in place.

Hot water or a quick blast with the hair dryer will make the finecast malleable, and then you can reposition it however you like.
I would imagine that would be straight.

It should be mentioned that a lot of finecast is warped during the pull (demoulding) as they often pull the parts before they are fully cured. You may find that the bend is not easily repairable, or that the part 'goes back' to being bent after a while. Warm the part under running hot water, straighten, and then immediately douse in cold water. Repeat this a few times and you should be good. Avoid putting the part under pressure (foam cases etc) and avoid exposing it to heat again.

just ask for a replacement why put forth the effort to fix something that you spent money on and should be at a higher quality for the price you paid

Expect bends In resin. Is only a problem if it's persistent.
