Whats the rules with this, do they get the dread close combat weapon rule of 2x str, along with the lightning claw rules? Seems a little silly.

It isn't a dreadnought close combat weapon. It's a Blood Talon, and thus follows the rules for Lightning Claws, with the additional rules for extra attacks.

If you want to instant kill units and have ap2 take a blood fist, if you want to generate lots of attacks and have re-rolls to wound, take the blood claws.

Believe me, they're hardly silly - at a still respectable S6 and AP3, they'll chew through most standard units in one or two turns.
But to answer the original question - follow the lightning claws rules in the Rulebook for the weapon's profile, but as Specialist Weapons you do get an extra Attack if you have two. The Codex rule about generating extra attacks still applies.

Yep 6 attacks on the charge at S7 is not bad on a DC dred plus the re-rolls and extra attacks, might even get 8 wounds in a turn.

yea like getting one in close combat with 30 boys... you cant run away till it kills 21 of them coz they're fearless :/ So silly.

Could be worse, I've seen a DC dread kill 30 boys in one turn back in 5th ed. Kill 13 from blood claw wounds, 9 from the old fearless wounds, fail on LD 8 and the modifiers, the squad runs, dread wipes them out.

8? I've seen them do 30...................... Only stopped because it ran out of stuff to kill.

I've gotten between 3 and 12, the dice gods are not on my side.

In one player turn? You did it wrong- you wouldnt get fearless wounds AND a ld test, it is the former and then the next turn youre gone anyway...

My partner used to run 2 of them, and the dice gods hate him - best he killed was 15 termagaunts...in 3 rounds of combat!

Oh yes you have it, must have been more wounds from the claws and more from the fearless wounds.
