So, starting up beastmen, got the battle force, some minotaurs, the plastic bray shaman.

I was writing my list, and wondered what people equip their bsb with? I was thinking the steel-claws because they seem a bargain and then the gnarled hide for some protection, but then of course I can't take those upgrades anywhere else in my army now.

Also, I am converting the brass bull for my army, and was wondering if a beastlord (for ld9) is necessary for semi-competitive play, because to have a beastlord and the brass bull is a lot of points if I want to make the lord any good. It would also mean no lvl 4 wizard for my army.

So my dilemma is such, should i take taurox and a beastlord and drop the hide on the bsb for him and have a couple lvl 2 wizards; or take taurox and a lvl 4 wizard and forget the beastlord?

Cheers

As for a lord, take a doombull with rerollable 1+ armor and the ASF blade in the BRB.

Give him a flank on his own and watch the Man Vs. Toddler action.

For the Beast Lord: Armor of Destiny, Crown of Command, Sword of Battle, shield
GBS: Jagged Dagger, Talisman of Preservation, Fencer's Blades and Ironcurse Icon
BSB: The 206 noted above
For herdstone, 3 level 1s maybe 1 of them a level 2 with these items each: Dispel Scroll, Chalice of Dark Rain, Shard of the Herdstone, if you want all plastic/resin go with the new plastic kit GBS, Malagor, Dark Emissary and Necromancer with a beast head the last 2 you will need 25mm bases for.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd
