Hey guy I'm just now starting to play and got a 6th ed rulebook ive read all the rule and am ready to choose an army.
I have been looking at a few armies
-necrons
-salamander style space marines
-blood angels
-space wolves
i really like chaos daemons but heard they weren't very good, and i don't wanna field CSM because pretty much every1 is right now
i want a competitive army with survivability in close combats and numbers.
i really like the salamanders because they're all about the flamers
any input is suggested.

Necrons are hot! Space Wolves are well rounded as well. Keep in mind the Allies rule!

As Byte says, Necrons are probably the most competitive out of that list, but Space Wolves are a top class army too. I play both of them, but mainly Wolves, which are better in close combat.

If you want any help building a competitive list or with anything at all just ask. I'd also look into each army's play style before deciding though because you tend to do better with an army if you enjoy how it plays as you're more inclined to try and get practice in with it.
