Dear Dakka,
What is near and dear to you?

I wasn't sure which forum section to start this under but I thought I'd like to invite anyone and everyone to post about their source/s of inspiration for their hobby. I would love to read (and see!) what interests you and gets you excited about collecting/modeling/converting/gaming etc..

Do you have a favourite artist? What are some of their projects? Are you obsessed with a particular style of painting? Is there a model you have to include in every game? Do you have a piece of fluff that inspired you to pursue a special project? Is there a tactical genius whose advice you follow religiously?

Please, please share what stirs your imagination and creativity in your hobby.

Painting what I like. It's a terrible way to go, but at the minute I have Dreadfleet, A squad of Dark Eldar Warriors and Wyches, some hellions and some reavers. All of which need painting. It means I can paint what ever style I feel like whenever. It helps.

Also, try just buying some of your favourite models from your store/site. See how it goes. Provided you have some fun, it's worth the money.

Seeing a fully painted and/or converted army on a great board really makes me think "I want to do that!".
Unfortunately, I cant seem to stick with one, two, or even three armies, and so have I think 6 at the moment, most around 3 or 4 units :(

The moment I saw this picture I knew that would be how I'd paint my Kriegsmen.
