Hi Dakka,
I've decided to go ahead and create a P&M blog which will hopefully portray my journey towards the goals that I've set myself. I apologise for the large amount of text in advance
I first started collecting back in 2000 when I was 12. My first army was a very badly painted (12 year old me was pretty bad) Ultramarine army which I also played. I stopped collecting after a couple of years, had a brief 2 year spell of playing around 2006 and stopped again.
That leads to today. I was having a clear through of some boxes in my flat a month or so ago and stumbled across my poorly painted marines and some
IG I had bought and built and decided to get back into the hobby. I've got a fair amount of models which are a mix of still in the box, constructed not primed, primed, partly painted and terribly painted (yeh those marines keep cropping up).
I've got two main goals. The first is to field two armies upto 2000pts for which I can game with at my local
GW store and maybe a local club if any exsist. One army will be
IG and the other will be either Necrons or Orks (probably Necrons). My second goal is to set up a showcase of
40k armies. So far I've planned for
SM, Tau, Ork, Eldar,
GK, Nids and the two armies above. These will be displayed in a couple of glass cabinets alongside some flames of war models (i'm a bit of a WWII nut) and some other small collectible pieces I have. Man Cave Ahoy
If you have got this far then thank you, this blog will be here partly to document the construction, painting and all other miniature related shenanigans that I get up to but it is also here as I'm going to be asking for all your help and knowledge as I move forward.
I also plan to use this post as an update to the rest of the blog, so as it moves forward i'll add links etc to make it easier to find stuff. I also appreciate that not posting pictures is potentially a P&M nono, I promise to get some up ASAP!
