Hey guys i've recently started to collect a small army of dark elves, now the problem i'm having is to pick out a difrent color scheme for them that is no too wierd but at the same time stands out enough to be unique.
I've been thinking on focusing the army mainly around corsairs, shades and regular warriors and the theme i had in mind when it comes to the terrain for the army would either be a ruined or raised temple or mabey something like that.
All ideas and suggestions are welcome so thanks in advance

Generally I see combinations of either Black/purple, black/red or black/green. I've used black/blue on my old Empire models and liked the effect. If you're wanting to use a ruined temple you could maybe make black or dark grey marble to tie the colors in. I've even seen a ceremonial guard (though High Elf) where the armor plates themselves had a marble effect. Looked great.
Alternatives are one of the above colors with either boltgun metal (Not sure of the new color) or gold.
You can also paint them in your scheme, flatcoat them, and then go over the armor plates with gloss varnish to give them an enameled look.

it's been done on Dark Eldar, but how about blood/dark red fabric with the armor bits being bone? Fluff-wise, they could dye their clothing in the blood of sacrifices to the ruined temple, and inlay their armor with the bones of same victims....

Not saying that you should copy my scheme, but here is what I went with:
Turquoise and purple.

Thats a nice Scheme you got there Aerethan, but those colors are a bit too bright for my taste to be honest.

Indeed the turquoise is bright. It's my wife's army and she picked the colors.
