In my post about my recent game I had a handsome Chaos players put a group of his units 14" away from my warriors, saying that because the warriors were facing forward they could not see behind them and he only had to be over 12" away.

Was this legal? Can anyone post where in the rulebook units have a 360 degree LOS for this purpose?

Also, Challenge Wounds, do they count for combat resolve?

Thanks Dakka

Not legal. But the rule is not quite explicit.

"""Firing models can always draw line of sight through members of their own unit just as if they were not there."" This includes itself.

"""Whilst the direction a model is facing won't impact its ability to shoot or charge into combat later in the""". You need LOS to shoot, however this states your models facing does not matter.

And yes to challenge wounds.

If ANY unit can draw LOS to the Infiltrators...
AFAIK there is nowhere that specifically states that models have 360 degree LOS, though it is definitely implied.

Challenge Wounds count for combat res.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
