So I was thinking about taking Karandras for his CC prowess and I have had several Dakkites claim that Fuegan is a better choice. Is Fuegan's 4 I7 S5 attacks that ignore armour saves better than Karandras' 6 I1 S8 attacks that ignore armour saves? Coming from Orks, I have characters with Power Klaws and no Eternal Warrior, so going at I1 doesn't seem like that much of a detriment to me. Or is there something else I am missing?

I don't write the rules. My ego just lives and dies by them one model at a time.

Fuegan has feel no pain aswell and does extra damage vs vehicles.

Karandras has worse survivability and strikes last (bad combination).

I usually run Yriel instead of a phoenix lord, he is better

Kandras gives stealth to a unit, which is huge. If he needs to, he can use his scorpion chainsword for S5 attacks at I7. Karandras is less likely to survive in a knock down drag out, and is far worse against tanks. He sticks more wounds against tough targets though with more attacks.

Both give fearless to the unit they join. Both have amazing stats. Fuegan is 10 points cheaper. Unless you are exploiting the stealth USR with Karandras I would say Fuegan is better.

Either way, they are the two playable PL's in the codex.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.
