That looks awesome mate, the only negative thing I'd have to say is that the photo isn't the clearest

From what I'm looking at though you've done a pretty good job, the green carapace looks great and is well highlighted and is a good contrast to your bone/flesh colour which is also looking good.

Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing more soon

Looking good! I love the green, are you doing different troops in different colours?

Ha ha no worries man, I'm in a similar boat although it's probably better that you can't see my models in much detail

For a 5th model.... I've gotta say I am really impressed you obviously have a flair for this and I look forward to seeing number 6 if this is anything to go by

Looks really good, but you should consider glossing up the carpace pieces. that'll make it look even more awesome.

by any chance are you using the 'How to paint miniatures guide'?

Nah mate, I'm kinda just trying things out and hoping that it works.where is that guide? Wouldn't mind a look..I got the colours for the carpeice from my nurgle marines that I've started painting and the bone/flesh is from a dark angels terminators. I saw a guide on doing it with a air brush but I just changed it round a little to work with a brush. Pics of the hive tyrant will be up tomorrow hopefully.. Just got to do the base and some more of the light green high lighting stuff on the wings.

What is the best stuff to use to gloss the carpiece??

I just used the gloss GW have out, that's worked really well on some 'nids I painted up.

I only asked coz it the body looks the same way I did mine, white undercoat with a Sepia wash over the top and then just painted the carapace up

Looking good mate! I really like your scheme for them! I agree that maybe adding gloss to the carapace might look pretty good as well as perhaps some fleshy pink/red in the sinewy parts joining the claws etc. the more naturalistic colours work nicely with a couple of spot colours perhaps on the carapace in a yellow? but overall so far a damn fine and solid paint!

When I was messing bout with colours I was looking for a more organic kind of colour.
I was going to do the usual purple carpeice but I had all the colours out from my nurgle marines I just started and thought why not!
As for the gloss I am going to get a pot this weekend to go over it all.
Next up I may try a unit of genestealers.

Again dude... Absolutely LOVELY Tyranids...

Spot on with the Colours and its such a beautiful Scheme...

My Only quarrel, is that the Tips on the Wings, Tail, Whip and spikes on his Chest are the Same colour as his... "Skin"

Which is what i always thought it was... i always liked to paint the Claws and stuff like that in a Dark Red for my 'nids.

But then thats personal Preference really

Just Food For thought dude, keep up the good work!
