Despite the rules for IC's I'd say no as it's a squad upgrade bought pregame for that one specific unit and their weapons.

The IC still "counts as part of the unit for all rules purposes" Psy-bolt ammo was bought for the unit, the IC "counts as part of the unit for all rules purposes".

Than I guess by that logic I can take Stern and a squad of GK, however I don't like Sterns weapons so I can swap one for a Daemon Hammer in the squad upgrade because it says any model.

Daemon Hammers are not something you purchase for the unit. So you can not have one.

Nope, as ICs can only join a unit once the battle starts, after army list construction. If the psybolt ammunition affects the squad, it also affects the IC, as the squad size is not determined at the start of the battle.

Yes, I'm aware that was more sarcasm than anything. As GK's don't have any brotherhood allies I don't forsee this minor "abuse" causing to much of a ruckus. However it has me looking for other units/ hq's I can possibly abuse a loophole with for some humour. Automatically Appended Next Post: Here's something bad/amusing and a bit funny.

The swiftclaws example doesn't work. The upgrade is bought on an x points per model basis. The IC isn't joined at the point of writing the list so it doesn't get melta bombs.
The grey knights is worded very differently.
