Received my extra orders of Dark vengeance CSMs.

I loved the models, quite a bit actually. Not fully sure what I intend on doing with them seeing as I already have an iron warriors army bursting at the seams, and a thousand sons army as well... But hey, I could always use some more dynamically posed khorne berzerkers!

In any case, these are most definately WIPs. I was in a rush to snap these shots, so the quality is horrendous, but I'm actually quite impressed with the results. I was expecting this to go pretty badly, but now I'm stuck wondering why GW insisted on killing the reusability of these models by putting so many giant brick-shaped gouges in everything. Even the power-plants have compatibility issues between those 6 models, I had a hell of a time putting the right power plant to the right model.

As to the apostle's helmet, I was surprised how easy it was to carve the hand off and shape it to mirror the other side of the face. Not great work, but I find it satisfactory.

Overall though, my favorite is the bald fellow strolling along at a leisurly rate, and the brute who initially held the axe. Those two poses have a lot of dynamic potential, and I have one more set of them to work through.

love them, I will share with you mine when I get back from work. I doubled up and have 12 of the buggers and left one set of 5 relatively stock.

The Chosen Champion or DA was really easy to convert, I was also surprised.

The bolter chosen is perhaps the most disapointing as he is the hardest to convert and also the one you get the most of.

I agree that the strolling bolter fellow is the most dissapointing, but it's not too hard to work around. It's easy enough to give him a weapon swap, by and large just use different hands and give him a heavy or special weapon. It's not too much of a draw to give him a shield and a sword or something, and the hole in his torso shouldn't be too difficult to cover up. I figure a trophy or sculpting on some patch of robes or something to blend in with what's already there and off you go.

Nice work! Glad to see people getting some more variety from these. That was my one disappointment with the models in DV. The fact that there's a repeated sculpt in the DA terminators is mind-boggling.

There are a number of repeated sculpts..... They are recycles of the ones found in the space hulk set.

champion with bolter instead of a plasma pistol

no one wanted twin lightning claws

too bad fist and axe dont go together

I made my DA a real bookworm. I am also going to add a doom siren on his back but am hoping I can find a nice one online before I surrender to my own scratch built one.

thanks, i really like his bolter but 4 of them would be too many so I gave it to the DA sergeant instead
