Hi there,
coming up for a blood angels list and was just wondering if anyone saw any major flaws in it. It doesnt have to be an uber roflstomp list. however i dont want it to be useless so if you spot any major problems please yell em out ^^ thanks.

only thing i would say is to change the chaplains to sanguinary preists, costs less and they are better imo, then you also hav some spare points to throw around
also i think lemartes is better to go with the DC
otherwise it looks good, i do the same tactic with DC, its soo much fun

Would agree with the above, for the cost I would take sang priests, chaplains are best with DC but you already have one in there, but the sang priest does have one wound and no invul save

2 scoring units at 2k is very light. Those multi dreads are gonna hurt as their range isn't that great. I would switch them out for some multmelta attack bikes and get some autolas preds or dev squads.

yee, I Thought the two scoring units might be troublesome.
it goes against the spirit of the list....but how about replacing the chaplains with priests and with the points buying a scoutsquad to sit in some terrain and keep a back objective?

seriously, priests over chappies. They are better + cheaper. More benefit, less cost.

The points dont make sense on the DC. 10 should be 200 (10 x 20) + the 2 PFs (2 x 25) should be 250. Typo?
The dread is good but should have a pod for mobility, otherwise not great. I like the RAS, but maybe some flamers on one squad? Doesnt matter much.
Heavy support:
Dreadnought, MM, Heavy Flamer, Drop pod 150
Dreadnought, MM, Heavy Flamer, Drop pod 150
Stormraven, TL MM, TL LC 200
Those pods should be on the DC dread... Or at the very least add a third...
but otherwise good!
Reclusiarch, Death Company and Deathcompany Dreadnought all get in the stormraven to deliver them into assault.
The dreadnoughts come down in drop pods to take out any heavy armor. The MM means they dont need to get as close to get in yummy range.
The two chaplains each join an assault squad as does the librarian and they move up over the board to claim objectives and get stuck in.
I gave the sargeants Power swords in stead of powerfist so they can either accept a challenge and stand a chance or refuse it in which case you've still got the chaplain swinging his power fist.
still toying with taking the magna grapple off the dreadnought and giving the assault squads melta bombs in stead as the dreadnought is supposed to be in CC at all times.

thanks for feedback!
the Death company dread is going in with the stormraven to be dropped off. thats why i dont have it in a drop pod. Is my reasoning behind this flawed?
the points on the death company is indeed a typo. so with the chappys changed to priests and the points on the DC adjusted. that leaves me with 170 points. worth losing the magna grapple and the PF's on the DC to get in another assault squad?

I would say yeah, more bodies>PFs... but if you can cut elsewhere that would be better. For example, the reclusiarch... Switch to a chappir
DC in raven is fine. Sorry, my bad on that one.

Slight Necro but didnt want to make a new thread for the same army and points cost. Ive come back to this project after a hiatus and have made up my mind on how im gonna run it. Nothing too competitive but just want anyone to point out any GAPING holes. I think im pretty fine though.

In my experience, your jump pack assault guys won't make it. If you deep strike, the new Inquisitorial codex may hamper you with servo skulls and "I've been expecting you."
I am thinking of switching to Assault marines in razorbacks with a few baal predators to soak up fire. I ran three baal predators this weekend- one lasted until turn 3 because of amazingly lucky rolling. Mostly they last till turn 2- plenty of time to blast those razorbacks up to their targets.

if both assault squads dont make it. that should definately mean that the land raider with DC and the dreadnoughts shuold be able to wreck face? also, one of the squads will be moving up with the librarian casting shield of sanguinius for a 5+ cover with 5+ FNP. The other will be taking cover behind the land raider so getting the same saves. should get them a bit of survivability.

It's a fair assessment, though barrage-sniping can lead to you losing your priests pretty early. And no-cover weapons are everywhere, especially in competitive play.
It really depends on how shooty and mobile your opponent is. I played DA this weekend and ended up with a bike squad behind me and a gunline in front. Unpleasant.
Still, try it out, especially if you already have the models.

Instead of the chaplain run an ordo xenos inquisitor with liber hereticus, rad granades and either prescience or hammerhand.
He gives your death company counter attack, +1 strength (or rerolls to hit), and reduces the toughness of the opponents unit by 1. He also gets a force sword/axe. All for only 85pts. These buffs are far better than the buffs of a chaplain AND you can afford a poweraxe for the dc squad.

Ive made a few changes, decided that i wanted some more drop pods so I could get 2 pods to drop on turn one. was doubting between combi plasma and melta for the sternguard but decided on plasma as it would give me more shots resulting on more alpha potential, and also because I have melta in the form of assault squads and dreadnoughts. I also removed the chaplain as i think the death company hit hard enough by themselves and adding the chaplain would probably just have them end up destroying a unit and then getting shot to bits in the next turn. On their own they might finish off the combat in the other players turn.

The newest version looks pretty good to me. Simple and effective. But should the Sternguard have meltas for First Blood purposes? Well, that's what I would run at least (or are the Dreads coming first?)

Well thats the reason Im going with plasma. It gives me some flexibility. For example if i run into a mech list I would drop the two dreads first with the meltaguns. But if i run into monstrous creatures then I drop the sternguard. as plasma is better versus MC's because of rate of fire no?
Also, Have tons of spare plasma pistols lieing around so making combi plasmas is easier
