So this list is a somewhat crazed attemt from my side to create a horde army for Chaos Marines! yes you heard me rigth. Would this list work or is it utterly useless? It is to be noted that competative play is the last thing on my mind as I only play with friends and such. So any C&C is welcomed

Are you taking Ahriman simply for the warlord trait? If so you can get a larger horde by taking Huron and use the 70 points for more hordes and possibly some spawn to soak wounds.

How dare you take 2 ML's and not the the 35th man for your squad! Do you have no honor as a man?

Also what Piccolo said^ It'd look like Huron's "enlisted" pirate crew was attacking

If your goin for horde maybe ditch the marks on the cultists take all auto cannons ( 5 havocs 4 ac 115 pts) take another havoc squad and buy a few more cultists

I don't think it would work this way. Cultists are meat shields and cheap scoring units, not offensive troops all by themselves. I would take six smaller squads, it's too many for the enemy to shoot. Bare minimum just have two larger squads, they need a lord attached to get fearless. Also Kharn the betrayer is good leading a pack of cultists, who are basically meat shields for him.

Yes and beacuse I love the model. And shooting fancy beams of warpp energy is always nice

Nope I serve the dark gods, and thus honour is not a word I know the meaning of. And I must say I did smile when I read the part about the "enlisted" crew

Well I figth mainly Orks & Nids so I need things than can chopp stuff up, and those three flamers on overwatch is just sooo tasty.

I tried the list today and it worked well...until I got a facefull of nids

Ok, after taking a serious look at the list I've come up with some questions:

Did you have problems getting your lord into CC? You might want to give him a bike or something like that

Why ML's on Havocs? I personally think that 3 autocannons and 1 Las would work better for swarms and popping ork vehicles while also increasing the chance of explosions.

Also 2 or 3 Hades on the Forgefiend? And going 2 Hades 1 Plasma has worked well for me against vehicles and tougher troops

No getting into CC was not an issue, it was more of a problem with the failed overwatch and the resulting failurs at saving trows on my side. beside that it worked well enough, I found that the other two Cultists hordes did much better when I got better rolls of the dice, I choose ML because of frag missiels and two auto cannons work well togetter. But I will try it out still.

I took three Hades auto cannons on the forgefiend, it earned its point back very well I must say. After my inital bad luck it really chewd up most of the things I shot at, Ahriman did do his jobb but notting more, will bring Kharn next time

If the cultist get into combat against tougher, more combat suited units they will be killed by a sweeping advance.

P.S-I am not a chaos player so i'd like chaos players to validate my statement.

I am aware of this, but since we almost never playe above 1500 points. If I am playing against tougher enemys I will alter the list of course, but with 35 Cultists and a Termi lord and Ahriman added to the sheer weigth of fire from the forge fiend and the Havocs normaly levels the odds. I could of course pay almost twenty points base for a Khorne Beserker but I dont feel like doing so. And added to the upgrades you need against harder opponents it is seldom worth it.

I would rather take a unit of Terminators if I was to add more hitting power to my army or perhaps two hellbrutes at higher point levels.

Yeah that is my first thought, which is why you need a lord or someone fearless attached to the squads.

Also you can not take 3 hades autocannons on a forgefiend, there is an option to replace the head with an ectoplasm (making 2 hades, 1 ecto) but not to replace it with another hades.

If you are playing against 'nids and orks, and have trouble vs them in combat, I would suggest using abaddon. He is the ultimate beatstick in CC, he will do combat better than those race. and you don't need to worry as much about infiltrating.

Hah, I would try using a proxy first with him and make sure you like it before you grab the model. He will wreck face, the only downside is he might turn into a spawn/dp in challenge but otherwise his stats will just get even better. you could probably even fit him and ahriman into the same list.
