In several BFG scenarios, transports are added to your fleet for free (Convoy, Planetary Assault, Exterminatus, etc.), but I can't find any place to actually buy the models for these transports. I've tried Games Workshop, Forgeworld (they have armed freighters but those are different), e-bay, kijiji, and can't find a single place that sells BFG Imperial Transports!

Help me out here where can I buy some BFG Imperial models!

Here's a pic of the model I'm looking for:

I think theyre oop. I see them on ebay every so often, more on uk ebay. Ground zero, shapeways, and scratch builds are pretty common alternatives. I made a bunch using junk from my tool bag, you can see how it was done here: http://manbattlestations.com/forum/index.php?topic=84.0

I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.

You can get transport models from forge world (about 3 for £10 IIRC)

Well, you can get fuel transports and troop transports from Forgeworld, but not just plain transports. It's odd that they're oop because they are essential in several scenarios!

They have never been very popular where i live, we used to use B5acta models to come to think of it but i dont know anyone that has that game anymore :/ shame it was like BFG+++.

These make good proxies for trader type ships:

A transport ship is a transport ship. You really shouldn't sweat such minor detals on a 1.5" model.

You might also try Mongoose's Star Trek line, look at the civilians or the more obscure aliens.

I got some FW armed freighters:

The only difference is that they have a few extra guns on them, but it is hardly noticeable. The fuel/troop ships are more cruiser sized, whereas these a more escort sized.

Oh yeah, I got these when they were sold in stores...they were metal ships by GW, not Forgeworld. I think I still have 4 of these and 4 of the tanker ones (had cylinders on the sides). I always thought that the anchor point for the base was too far back, they look (and are) unbalanced. I love BFG, I wish more people around here played it.

I don't have the models shown in the first post. Instead I use ships from Brigade Model ( http://www.brigademodels.co.uk/Spaceships/index.html ). They're cheap, there are lots of different designs, I already ordered twice by them and I'm really happy with their products.

My transports :

They even sell very small attack ships that can be used as 3D markers for torpedos, interceptors or bombers :
