Flash Gitz were total crap in 5th, playing them was laughable, BS2, expensive shooters with no real advantage.

In 6th the git finda was replaced with ignores cover which all in all is pretty cool. A unit of flash gitz with 9 gitz and a PB with more dakka upgrade to make them assault 2 is 330. 18 shots at variable ap BS2 is 6 hits. On a typical marine squad you would wound 4 times and kill 1-4 marines depending on ap. If we assume 15 points a marine that means it takes about 8 turns to pay for yourself with shooting alone assuming you are always in range and something bad doesn't happen to them (like return fire).

Games aren't 8 turns long so you need to find more expensive marines to shoot at which typically mean more retaliation. As flash gitz they are paying a fair amount for nob stats with eavy armor. So really even with the fancy guns they are close combat oriented with their three base attacks...but they don't have the ability to upgrade to a few PK's or really anything that could make them very dangerous in cc to the type of unit that would hunt them. Also they are still only LD 7 once 3 of them are dead.

Overall they still on the bottom end of the totem-pole even with ignores-cover. I think for the next dex they should consider one or a combination of these to make them playable

big point reduction and switch to a boy statline and bigger mob size.
base assault 2 (like the shoota) with shootier being assault 3
do away with flashgitz and just allow nobz to buy snazzguns as upgrades.

They are still too spendy for what they do.

That said i was laughing my butt off last game, as a unit of Flash Gits in a Skyshield just obliterated a termie unit that had teleported down to deal with them, landing behind the low ammo dump in the middle of the pad that we houseruled as granting 4+ cover.

Freeeemm!

My 2+ armour will just bounce that! It's Ap what? AP 1 ??

Fine! I get cover saves! I don't???

A bunch of failed 5+ invulns later....

I like to run mine from inside a BW or on top of a Skyshield.

They could definitely do with a price drop, its true, but in 6th they've actually been serving me pretty well as a whole

Do they make models for flash gits or do me have to scratch build them

There is technically a flash git model.

It's not a great model, but there is one.

Most sane folks (and most insane ones) convert their own.

Convert them from AoBR nobs is probably the cheapest option.
