So I now have 2 games under my belt and after a rousing win in the second game I have a few nagging questions...

#1 can I leave brother corbulo in a transport and still use his special abilities granted to those around him?

#2 can my stormraven fire all 4 of its missiles on 1 turn (I guess the question is if they count as individual weapons or not)

#3 are power weapons really worth it and which is the best- does anyone use the power lance on marines?

#4 I want to be able to field a cool customized hq. should I go librarian reclusiarch or captain?

#5 who in the blood angels can use gunslinger? is it worth it?

thanks- thats all for now

As long as they're within range.

IIRC they're is a faq that you can only fire 2 missiles a turn

I'd go power fist if anything with power weapons now being ap3

I'd go Libby, as psykers seem really good in 6th

no idea ^^

For number 5 you would have to check to see which models have/can take 2 pistols.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

#2: You may only fire 2 missiles per turn from a Flier (page 81)

#3: What weapon to choose is situational. Power Lances aren't really good against anything. Against MEQ, you must have charge and they're worthless next phase. Against sv 4+ or worse, Mauls are just better.

Many take Power Axe, as it is cheaper than Power Fist and you get 1 more attack, meaning it's actually better than PF against MEQ/TEQ. Now that you can use Grenades against MC's, PF isn't nearly as must as it used to be.

A power axe is not better than a power fist in all cases. A fist is better if you face multiwound models or high toughness models. The axe is a better choice on models that have limited numbers of attacks or will be grinding through low toughness models.

In general however a powerfist will generate more kills due to the higher strength(rolling 2's to wound in most cases) this more than offsets the loss of 1 attack on a sergeant model. When you are talking about points wise the axe is nearly half the points so you can have more attacks in WG squads etc for the same points.
In an assault squad I still think a fist is a good choice, whereas in something like a sanguinary guard unit axes are probably better on a points basis.

All of the power weapons do something different. Maces crush through light armoured units and can even do serious damage to monsterous creatures in the right hands(lemartes).
Lances are ok, I don't like them myself but they could do some real damage if you stuck a load of them on DC. Swords are ok, they do a reasonably average job and the axes are better against tougher armoured units.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

I agree, which is why I specified MEQ or TEQ.

Spot on.

Actually, in general PF will generate less kills than axe. You've probably didn't take the +1S axe gives into account. Assuming SM sergeant with charge, against MEQ/TEQ axe causes 1.33 wounds and Fist causes 1.25 wounds. No charge gives 1 and 0.833.
Basically, Axe is better against T4- models, and Fist is better against T5+ models or T4- multi-wound models.

I didn't say at t4 I said in general, over the spread of enemies you face. Lots of T5 crap on the boards these days. Though you are 100% right at t4 the axe is better.

Since this is for BA, if you are going with DC take an axe over the PF. S6 on the charge with 5 attacks will mess most things up.

If you're taking a power weapon or fist in a unit like blood claws or sky claws then the power weapon is a better choice due to the lack of attacks.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

1) Yes, you will measure from the hull.

2) No, Flyers are limited to 2 missiles a turn.

3) Yes they are worth it. Which kind to use really depends on the model its going on and its purpose. Power Lances are pretty good on Death Company. Power Lance and pistol gives you an insane number of Str6 attacks on the charge.

4) Librarians and Chaplains are better then Captains.

5) Any model that can purchase 2 pistols. its cool, but not really a competitive option.
