Interesting situation.... in the mission Big Guns Never Tire... (also applies to the scouring)

"each player recieves 1 victory point for for each enemy heavy support unit that is completely destroyed"

My question is if a unit such as Chaos Havocs take a rhino as a dedicated transport does their transport also count as a "heavy Support unit" for victory point purposes? in the mission it says "even your vehicles are scoring units, providing they are also heavy support units and they are not immobilised"

the rulebook states that

"dedicated transports do not use up a slot on the FOC"

This leads me to think perhaps they do not count... but an equal argument could be made saying they are still heavy support units as they are taken from that section... they just do not count towards your maximum allowance.... I'm leaning more towards saying they do count as heavy support..... as they are taken as an additional unit from the heavy support section of the codex... just because they do not take up space on the FOC doesn't chance what they are....

someone help me out with this one

DTs are still part of the FoC they come from, they just don't use up a slot.

So your Havoc's Rhino will be scoring and give a victory point if killed.

Dedicated transports still count as components of the unit for which they were purchased. That Rhino for the havocs counts as a heavy unit, it just doesn't take up any extra room on the FOC. But remember, it also may not contest the objective, so use it as a last turn rush, not a camper.

Or just leave that rhino parked on cover next to a remote objective, will force your opponent to either leave it alone or focus some shots on it.

On the other end of the stick a Terminator's dedicated LR can't capture objectives on Big Guns, but also doesn't give an extra victory point

I would say yes the transports count as victory points unless they are drop pods and then i would say no.
Drop pods never count as victory points especially against Chaos.

In Blue pen it says
"Drop pods never count as victory points in big guns never tire especially against Chaos"

Sinny, I appreciate the joke directed at your friend, but please don't post stuff like that in here. People are liable to take it seriously.

Some of our posters speak/read English as a second or third language, or just are folks who don't easily spot sarcasm when it's not accompanied by an emorkicon. The latter category, I find, includes most people if they're tired or distracted.

Thanks!
