Hey pal

I'm a big fan of Icon of Vengeance on CSM units, but not at 10-man. If someone seriously focused them down in order to make them take a morale check in the first place, they're probably combat ineffective anyways and they might as well have run. In foot lists I suggest having at least 15 CSMs and then with those numbers (or more), you can feel more comfortable paying for the Icon.

I understand why the cultists are there but I would seriously use the icon of vengeance points an boost their numbers.

Luckily Huron's Warlord Trait is amazing, and that is a massive boon. Clearly you've made your list with his trait in mind.

Without any changes, it is solid for 1500pts.

I suspect that those 10 cultists would be safe on an objective if the enemy has to contend with possibly the terminators *and* the 2 CSM units in their face... So rock on.

If you wanted to keep the IoV on the CSM units, maybe drop the plasma pistols and then use those to bump up the cultists? Don't wanna overheat yourself when you always have a chance to be a demon prince (and who better to benefit from Chaos Boons than basic no-mark Aspiring Champs?)

I don't mind at all, I do appreciate the feedback. A question I do have regarding your suggestions though is this; would it be better to drop the Cultist entirely and bump up the number of Marines in each unit, or drop the Icons and add more Cultist? I'm not going to drop the Plasma Pistols as I have already finished my models with them and I like putting up a lot of Plasma shots. I did keep Huron's Warlord trait in mind, he joins the Terminators who then infiltrate in. Are the Raptors with the Khorne Lord worth infiltrating in next, or are they fast enough to start in my deployment zone and infiltrate the CSM Squad(s) instead?

Well I am firm believer that CSM needs 3x troops choices at 1500+. Losing the cultistst would break my little personal rule, but squads of 15 CSM would be better to take full advantage of Master of Deception if you roll "3".

Fair enough, on the plasma pistols.. I'm super big on WYSIWYG. My cultists have autoguns so by George, I pay the 1pt per model. Yknow?

I would actually deploy the raptors because it gives your enemy more choices. Putting them in deep strike is a waste because that's that much fire going to your other units. They'll be fine. It's more of a "lolllll, PLEASE shoot my raptors from across the board and ignore my terminators and Troops." situation..

Raptors can't infiltrate anyways, because of the precise wording of our Master of Deception trait.

Ok, I reread the Master of Deception trait and you are correct, Raptors can't be selected as they are Jump Infantry. The reason I gave my CSM Squads the Icons of Vengeance is because I felt that it would help them hold objectives. My opponent has to kill all 10 to get them off of an objective, so even if they may not be combat worthy, they will at least force my opponent to either finish the small squad, drawing fire away from my other units, or leave them alone and allow them to claim or contest an objective.
