Soon enough at the FLGS, there is a two month long tournament that each player must use the same list for each game over the two months. No one can alter or change the list in any form, and they will be on file. so, here is my current list.

CCS:

Carapace armor
Plasma gun x2
Grenade Launcher
Regimental Standard
Body guard x2
Company commander w/ plasma pistol and power weapon, melta bombs
Chimera w/ dozer blade, multi laser, heavy flamer

Vet squad 1:

Carapace armor
Plasma gun x3
Missile launcher
Chimera w/ multi laser, heavy bolter

Vet squad 2:

Demolitions
Melta gun x3
Shotgun x6
Chimera w/ heavy flamer, heavy flamer

Vet squad 3:

Melta gun x3
Chimera w/ multi laser, heavy flamer

Vet squd 4:

Sniper rifle x3
Heavy bolter

Manticore Missile launcher w/ camo netting

Manticore missile launcher w/ camo netting

Leman russ squad:
Exterminator w/ heavy bolter sponsons, las cannon
Exterminator w/ heavy bolter sponsons, las cannon

Aegis Defence Line w/ quad gun.



The Sniper squad and manticores are behind the defence line. The Exterminator squad is there to pop off transports and just be big targets. I don't have any Valks/Vendettas, so, don't suggeest. I just figure this is a good list to have for different armies I will see. Mainly Vanilla Marines, Grey Knights, Dark Eldar, Nids, and maybe necrons.

Take a chimera or Carapace armour.. not both, Unless you particularly like those that heavy bolter on those Snipers i would switch them out for Ratlings, you will be able to take more snipers for the points cost. more snipers=more head-shots =profit Otherwise i like it

It's best to give guard squads one job, and one loadout for that job. Spend only the points you need to spend, then buy more guardsmen.

So, I would suggest dropping the carp armor and demolitions. Drop the regimental standard, it isn't a good match for vet squads that will be on the move. You don't need the power weapon, and you probably don't need the bodyguards either, they are not a good value.

With all those points, you should be able to afford another vet squad with a chimera. That will serve you better than upgrades. I like the Manticores, and Exterminators. You might have trouble with AV 14, and give some thought to taking and holding objectives. That sniper squad will fold up like paper in any kind of assault.

Okay, a little alteration.

Subtract out the following:
Regimental standard
Body guard x 2
Power weapon
Carapace on vets
Carapace on CCs
Melts bombs
Plasma pistol on vet sgt.

Added two armored sentinels with auto cannons. I know the math doesnt add up but I did it on army builder and it is
Legit. Think the two extra auto cannons might work. Not in the mood for more troops, but maybe.

I know the sniper squad will not last in combat, but what IG does other than organs. They are there to man the gun and hold objectives back in the field. AV14 will beat issue, but at this point level I think only one land raider to worry about on most lists.
