Here is Rex the Ogre- I painted him for the Gencon Painting competition this year, and he took third place in the large figure category. And I've only just gotten around to posting him. While the sculptor was not credited (to my knowledge) I suspect he's a Jason Hendrix sculpt. The anatomy just looks like Hendrix' style.

I've also posted him up on Coolmini for anyone who cares to vote.

That blue skin looks awesome, Odinsgrandson! Actually, it is all very well done. The fur loin cloth, the metal parts and the club all look great!

Thanks.

The skin was quite a process to get through. Altogether, it involved me poking at it with five or six different paint pots, and never a color that wasn't mixed with something else. Eventually, I think it came out right.

Building a blood in water scent

Gorgeous, and another nudge towards me buying Super Dungeon Explore.

My only criticism is that is very clearly a Troll, not an Ogre.

We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".

The centre of a massive brood chamber, heaving and pulsating.

Whilst most of Soda Pop Miniatures's stuff is, to me, a bit tasteless, especially Tentacle Grape (I thought Tentacle Bento looked quite funny though) Super Dungeon Explore looks truly marvellous. I may have to get it.

And damn, that is a sweet model. Did you use an airbrush? The highlights and blending is incredibly smooth.

Okay. That is just awesome Thanks for sharing

Adam's Motto: Paint, Create, Play, but above all, have fun. -and for something silly below-

"We are the Ultramodrines, And We Shall Fear No Trolls. bear this USR with pride".

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?

You must recite every rule of Dakka Dakka. BACKWARDS.

Ah- I know what you mean. But then again, the expansion has Rockgut the Troll in it, so...

Thanks. There was actually a molding problem on the one that I got, so I had to do a little sculpting to make his left arm smooth. Other than that, he needed some standard gap filling with some green stuff.

I tried out a technique that I got from Marike Reimer. She said that smoothing out greenstuff to perfection is just too much work (the truth is, it takes a sculptor quite a while to learn how to do it to a professional level). But, you can fudge it a little by painting a layer of gloss over the top of your green stuff. It smooths it out, and helps the mini look seamless.
