Eldrad – 210
Farseer – 140
Doom, Fortune
Spirit Stones, RoWi

10 Striking Scorpions – 212
Exarch w/ Scorion’s Claw
Shadowstrike, Stalker
10 Harlequins – 250
10 Kisses, Shadowseer
5 Fire Dragons – 112

10 Guardians – 85
Shuriken Cannon
Heavy Support
2 Vibro Cannons – 100
2 Vibro Cannons – 100
2 Vibro Cannons – 100
ADL w/ Quad Gun
Total: 1995
So I really enjoy making lists that are a combination of many elements, and I really like this list. It has an advance component, and a camping component. Basically, the Farseer with the Striking Scorpions will infiltrate and get in my opponents face early, while Eldrad and the Harlequins and the Wraithguard advance as a super-durable unit. The rest of my force unless needed elsewhere or objective camping will camp the ADL with the fire dragon exarch on the Quad Gun. I think Vibro Cannons have been generally under appreciated in this edition, especially for glancing tanks to death and having the ablity to hit many targets in the same turn, so I have included pleanty and hopefully their toughness 7 2 wounds and the ADL cover willl keep them around for the whole game practically. So tell me what you think, all comments are appreciated.

Maybe I have missed it in 6th, but how does the Farseer infiltrate with Scorpions? If he can, I can see some utility with the unit, but I thought an IC needs to have Infiltrate as the unit cannot confer infiltrate to an IC.

I love harlies and a farseer with a harlie with fortune and doom, yes please. I love the look and fluff of Scorpions, but honestly they really do not perform that well in 5th or 6th ed. Eldar are decent at shooting, but we are so weak in CC that if we do not charge we often don't survive the initial assault. I would really drop the scorps, put the farseer with your harlies, take a Troope Master for extra A and LD, take a fusion pistol on the shadowseer and troop master, a spear for your farseer - now you have something that cracks tanks and can eat the juicy goodness inside after cracking it. For Heavy support I would use War Walkers with scatter Lasers, my second choice is Wraithlords, but if you are fighting a lot of Dark Eldar don't bother, the poison is really obnoxious to them.
Try to get the guardian squad with the shuri to take an EML and get a warlock with enhance, stick Eldrad with him behind the ADL. Have eldrad man the Quad gun and the Warlock man the EML. Depending on mission havethe War Walkers near Eldrad to guide or outflank the war walkers.EML are nice on War Walkers but only if he can be guided. If someone gets close to the line guide the guardians, overwatch with guide is quite nice even against termies - with a squad of 20 even better. Good luck

Yea I think it's allowed. I don't have my book on me but i thought it specifically said something along the lines of that the exarch and any models in his unit, including IC, can infiltrate. Only Autarches cannot for some reason.

"Shadowstrike: The Exarch becomes one with the shadows, using them to shield his squad from their enemies as they approach. A squad including a model with Shadowstrike has the Infiltrate special rule. This ability cannon affect an Autarch-his command is needed elsewhere." Page 33 Eldar codex.
It's not allowed in the Eldar Codex, which is why I'm curious if there is something in the 6th ed rulebook which allows it. If so, then I like the concept, although I'd likely throw in Karandaras/Farseer/Scorpions combo.

Please don't take enhance on shooter guardians... +1 WS is beyond useless for them. Take either conceal for the perma 5+ CS (useless with the ADL) or embolden for the reroll on LD. Enhance is useless outside of Storm Guardians / Foot or Jet Councils

So far the effectiveness of 10 Wraithblades with Ghost Axes:
Tanked 2 Leman Russ squadrons (including the battle cannons and the triple plasma variant); whilst also getting wailed on by everything imaginable in a Fortress of Redemption. Only to get into CC with the tanks and open them up.
2000 points worth of Necrons with Forgeworld additions. Got into CC with a court of Lords and opened them up.
Killed a GUO.
Killed Angrath the Gargantuan Bloodthirster in an Apoc game (with the help of Iranna the Spirit Seer).
Ate a Hammerhead, pathfinders and scored after 3 turns of walking towards a 2000 point Tau gunline and overwatch!
And counting............ |

The Shadowstrike will effect ONLY the Aspect Warriors, BUT according to the new Infiltrate rules you only need one model in a squad to have infiltrate the whole squad, so it WILL work.

Sadly, ICs without infiltrate cannot join and infiltrate with units that have the infiltrate rule unless they themselves have the rule (BRB).

This is not beyond useless for them... What is useless is the Conceal power when you are behind an Aegis Defense line. You are going to have your guardians behind some cover which makes conceal not only useless but expensive. WHY I recommended Enhance is say the guardians DO get charged they are now WS 4 instead of 3 and the Warlock and Eldrad are improved. This has come in handy for me many times in the past. If you really never see them getting into C, then take embolden as this allows for reroll in psychic tests and leadership. But if you are following my suggestion of putting this squad behind an Aegis defense line DO NOT waste your points on conceal! This will not help you at all and will cost you 15 pts which with Eldar we are already expensive

Hey guys,
I love playing Eldar, and I am happy to giveyou some play advise but there is one thing EVERYONE has overlooked on this post....
Aegis Defense lines are BATTLEFIELD TERRAIN, not STRUCTURES.
Therefore , they CANNOT be manned by ANY model on the gun. They use the automated rules. Check it out in the rulebook under battlefield terrain.
But more to the point...
I have found that the Eldar really only have one COMPETITIVE build. the jetbike spam. Which in my humble opioion, is a VERY unsporting way to play, but very competitive.
I like using ALOT of guardians with Conceal and Scatterlas weapon platforms.
Farseer with fortune guide and doom
Dark Reapers to kill those pesky marines
And D-cannons to wipe everything out.
Shining Spears are a good little punch as well.
The previous contributers made some fine points about Striking scorps..and for that matter any of the eldar HTH. Harlequins are the only real viable choice.
try that list out in a "proxy" game..

When an IC joins a squad, they are part of the squad. The entire squad gains the infiltrate ability as per the wording on Shadowstrike. The only IC that cannot benefit from this is an Autarch (as per the Shadowstrike wording). Codex trumps BRB when there is a conflict with rules. The exception is FAQs. The closest FAQ regarding Shadowstrike and Farseers has to deal with Phoenix Lords (which are IC themselves) play by different rules due to their "Disciples: X" rule. Normally the IC not getting infiltrate would be true; but, the Shadowstrike ability has additional rules on the application of infiltrate (in this case, everyone who has joined the squad gets it except Autarchs).

No, this is not the case. It confers it to an Autarch as written up in the codex.

The Aegis Defense Line is actually Battlefield Debris as per its entry on page 114. Then check Page 105's entry on Gun Emplacements in the Battlefield Debris section.

Guardian Jetbikes are very good but definitely not the only option for competitive play by any means. Dire Avengers can still tear stuff to shreds (I believe it was NOVA, but there was an Eldar player who did extremely well with FOOT DA, which is something that is amazingly unheard of haha) and while I dislike them some people are swearing by Rangers/Pathfinders, though I attribute that to luck.
Guardians shouldn't need Conceal as they should be behind an Aegis to get a better cover with a 2+ to ground option. Give them Embolden so that they'll actually stick around and have the Warlock fire the QuadGun.
Dark Reapers and DCannons are definitely more viable now, though the Dcannon's range still makes me sad.
It's good to see someone who likes Shining Spears!

Oh FFS, please, look at one of the many threads on this or just read the difference between 'Gun Emplacements' and 'Emplaced Guns'.
The Jetbike spam is good, but at the end of the day it's just an expensive, fast marine with a cover save.

They are not taking leadership test at 8 if Eldrad is with them who is 10. If they do fail, if an independant character is with them they use his leadership for route test so not likely to fail. LD of 8 is pretty nice, my Orks are ld7 when not fearless.
Since 6th Ed, I have been playing bike seer council, with GJBk for troops, war walkers and vypers, I have done well with this competitively, however it is not the end all be all by any means. Until we get a new codex and hopefully a price reduction, Eldar are taking a hit. The flying circus and holofields aren't what they used to be, but on the other hand foot eldar and jet bikes are a lot better now. I think 6th ed will be very exciting for Eldar

Well, I do admit the idea was for Eldrad to go with the Harlequins and the Wraithguard to keep them in the game, the only purpose of the guardians was to objective camp, maybe go to ground early and stay down. Honestly for their points cost I felt that a 30 pt warlock for each squad, or a total of 90 extra points just wasn't worth what I would have to remove from the rest of the army.
