Just wondering if anybody uses brother-sergeant chronus in their lists with any success.

His BS 5 and Tank Commander special rule is appealing, I'm just not sure if it worth the points. I was thinking of using him on a whirlwind or a predator with twin linked lascannon.

Not used him personally, I can see him becoming most useful as and when the whirlwind gets the skyfire rule (or whatever it's called).

Is it possible for him to start out in a Rhino, disembark and then take control of allied IG barrage tanks? That'd be his most useful thing if he can do that

I'm pretty sure he has to start in one of your tanks, and can only get out if the one he starts in blows up.

He was overpriced in 5th, and 6th just made things worse. I own his mini (got it at a blow-out sale) but haven't actually fielded him. Shame, because he look cool. I might just pop him out of the hatch for looks next game.

The BS5 helps things that are not twin linked the most. I'm not sure if the extra 1" of scatter compensation is worth it on the whirlwind/vindicator.

Ignoring damage results was nice in 5th, but in a world where glances can kill, looses a little bit of it's luster.

I think of the basic choices, the dakka predator might be the best ride. Low base points, so the overall cost is low. Nothing is twin-linked, but you are putting a lot of shots downrange. And a predator is a reasonably sturdy chassis, so should be able to hold out for a while. Of course, you could almost buy 2 dakkas for the price of him commanding one. Might be worth it if you are full up on HS picks.

Dakka pred is 85pts cronos is 70. So for an upgraded dakka you could just take 2 dakka preds instead. The only place worth considering him on would be the hybrid pred. Then only in 5th due to tank comander. Now that stunlock isn't important he:s totally worthless unfortunately. Just far far too many points. A targetting array for tau is 5pts for a comparison upgrade to bs..
