Commander Shadowsun
4x 12 Fire Warriors
3 Remote Sensor Towers
4 Drone Sentry Turrets with TLMPs
2x 2 Broadsides with TLPR, one w/ BSF, one w/ Target Lock
2 Broadsides, one with TLPR/TL, one with SMS/BSF
Aegis with Icarus Lascannon

Pretty simple concept. 48 FWs behind an Aegis, Shadowsun on the Icarus for a LD10 bubble and BS5 Lascannon. 6 Broadsides with TL Railguns, target locks and BSFs everywhere, and 5 TLPRs for when they have to move. 4 TLMP Drone Turrets for more anti-transport support; can easily deploy them outside the Aegis due to T7 3+ 2W each. Remote Sensor towers gives you 3 TL Markerlights, and allows you to twin-link 3 squads per turn - so 3 of those max size FW squads will be twin linked for maximum shooty goodness. Can easily drop the TLPR off the mixed Broadside team to upgrade the Icarus to a Quadcannon if that's your preference.

Obviously, this list will have some issues with long range blast weapons - Manticores, Thunderfire Cannons, etc. But at 1500pts it's pretty hard to dislodge in most cases I would think. With as much TL weaponry as is on the board, plus a BS5 Icarus, flyers shouldn't be an issue in most cases.

I think the plasma rifles on the broadsides might be a bit excessive, since you probably won't have the enemy within 12' long enough for it to be worth the points.

I'd take a shield generator on the turrets. The way the entry reads is that you purchase one shield generator for the entire unit for 20 points. Makes the turrets a bit more survivable. I'm glad someone is trying to use them (I've always been fond of them) and the sensor towers.

Personally I'd never take the lascannon, as the quadgun just seems so much better.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

Good point on the plasmas... would give me 50pts to play with elsewhere. Not sure what I'd spend it on, though.

My read is that it's basically the same as a vehicle squadron... i.e. you have to buy them for each turret. Besides, with cover being plentiful and an Aegis in the list, throwing Disruption Pods on them for Shrouded makes a lot more sense in terms of survivability - can easily get a 2+ or 3+ cover save out of it for 5pts per model.

I'm torn on the quad vs. Icarus question myself. Yes, you get more hits from the Quad - with TL BS5, you're basically not missing at all. Problem is that you'll be stripping about 2HP per turn from regular flyers, about 4/3 HP per turn from the AV12 ones. Not enough to kill it outright, unfortunately. S9 shots from the Icarus give 2/3 or 1/2 HP per turn, but pen more often with a 1/3 chance of going boom. Hard to quantify which is the better option overall.

What are the fliers you see more often in your meta?

I see more FMC/Necron flyers. T5-6 and AV 11 the Quad gun is the best choice for me.

Scythes, Stormravens, and Vendettas mostly. There's enough of the AV12 running around that Quadcannons usually struggle a good bit.

Don't really see many FMCs actually, though that may be changing with the new 'dex.
