As I understand it the type of the mount is the type of the unit. If it's MB it's MB. In the BRB every instance of the mount type states the entire unit becomes that. They only say "in general" in terms of 4 types. O&G have mounts that are Monster, MB, War Beast. It's a way of giving, or not giving, special rules to different mount types. But it certainly isn't IN/MB. It's a MB.

I guess you're right. It doesn't really matter like I thought. They all have swiftstride anyway.

Only two stats can be shared in MC. And there's only a couple instances in the whole game of any MC having > T than the rider. And not many with W for that matter. And, funny enough, one is DE. But really there ain't many. But there aren't many MC in general.

But I meant MB vs. MC. They both have swiftstride and stomp. I know they aren't cavalry or Infantry.

Skullcrushers are new--but maybe they had this rule in mind when they wrote the unit. Rhinox riders aren't legit.

Gee, I don't know maybe the giant notice that says EXPERIMENTAL RULES on it and the fact it came out before Ogre Kingdoms and makes those units obsolete and horribly priced. And the fact that all WFHB rules are not official unless they are latest army book, brb, faq, or WD where they say it's official. Per GW.

Forgeworld's copy says Experimental. That's on their website.

The BRB says use the army book. The WD inserts say "Official Update" on them. The FAQs say:

WARHAMMER
RULEBOOK
Official Update Version 1.6A

I know the rules are complete. But they're complete crap. The nice people (not sarcastic) at FW made some cool models for rhinox riders before the new OK book. I'm not sure if anyone doing the new OK book knew about this or what, but they essentially made the same unit except a lot wussier. And Mournfangs are NOT wussy.

They would be

WS3.5 S5 T5 W4 I2.5 A8 L8
3+ armor
D3+1 impact
Frenzy
capable of heavy armor, IF, GW, AHW, magic banner
---for 105 pts

Why not just make them poop lightning bolts and be done with it? They're basically monsters. The new rule that MC share toughness makes them T5. They're just a bit over the top esp when added with the options of Mournfangs.

Actually, I don't know who first added it. I don't think it was FW. You can see an excerpt of a pretty old version here including the fluff. Seems it was around since at least 2007.
