So I was given this special edition book for my Birthday and its still sat on my shelf unopened. I'm not sure whether to open it or not as I was thinking of keeping it in mint condition for the future. Antone read it yet? Is it worth opening the seal just to read it?

imo, limited edition Novellas like Aurelian and what not are going for $150 on amazon. You should keep it in mint condition, I hear you're not missing very much and it's warporn.

That being said, if you are really interested in the White Scars and Jaghatai Khan, then give it a go.

Or just get it off the net. You already own the book, so it's not like you're taking money from GW, morally speaking.

I would read it personally as it's very very good in my opinion. We haven't had a lot of White Scars yet, and even less Jaghatai Khan.

If you do read it do so in a sterilized room in full surgical gear, using sterilized utensils to turn the pages, taking care in the first instance to open the box without disturbing the glue too much, ready for resealing afterwards.

No one will know the difference afterwards

No pity, no remorse, no shoes

this is what I was thinking. The only thing that will remain a mystery will be what book number I got. I guess I can live with that.

Couple of things; first it was a gift, so I imagine the gift giver expects you to read it. And two; yes a copy or two will go for a lot of money and then all of those who bought two or more will flood the market and drop the price. This particular limited release was done differently to put a crimp in the reselling, hence the week long pre-order. 5764 copies were printed, how many White Scar Fans and Horus Heresy completists do you really think there are? I don't think the market will be there for this one.

I think you're just saying that to get him to read it so it won't be in mint condition, so it will be cheaper when you ask him to sell it to you, Mr. White Scar.

Read it, I love the White Scars and found it very short and overall underwhelming, but as said before, it's good warporn!

only 5764 copies eh? I wonder how many of these remain unopened? After your review I feel in no rush to open mine.
