Apologies if this is already widely known but i am of course talking about the canopek Acanthrites. Im liking the looks of these think there a cross between scarabs and praetorians. For this reason i cant fault them for taking up a much loved fast attack slot. They are much more survivable then scarabs whilst still posing a massive threat to vehicles, cost 5 points more then a praetorian but get extra wounds.

Whats not to love??

No Wraithflight, no Phase Shifter, no RP: would rather take Wraiths.

Can cut a termie in half before gettin into CC and threatens vehicles more then wraiths do.

There not going to be for everyone but they bridge the gap for sum peoples lists im sure.

Pros
Doesn't really need Wraithflight (it just jumps over terrain anyways). They have a better shooting attack (S6 AP2) transdimensional beamer is heavy so can't assault after shooting , can have 9 of them (3 more than wraiths). T5 so instant kill weapons are rarer than S8 weapons, 3 Wounds (therfore really negating any real need for PS). Actually cheaper money wise (Australian Dollar) than wraiths. Has stealth so therefore combined with Imotekh/night fighting/solar pulses makes them harder to kill until too late for the opponent.

Cons
Experimental rules may disallow use in particular tournaments.10 points more expensive (whether it is worth it or not is your choice)

I might actually say that Acanthrites may be better.

Plus Wraiths don't have reanimation protocols anymore either.

Should also keep in mind that Imperial Armor 12 is just around the corner and Necrons are featuring heavily so these guys may see updated rules.

By the 37 keys of Tzeentch,We open the way for our brothers,
By the 1000 whispers of Slaanesh we call to them,
By the 12 plagues of Nurgle we fell their enemies,
And by the mighty axe of Khorne we cut open the world for them!

I suspect they will have their rules changed, but currently I see them as upgraded Praetorians. Fill the same roll but more efficient.

I do like what the void blade brings. With rending as well as entropic strike one six and the multi-wound creature has no armor.
