I've been futzing around with Campaign: Paradiso and figuring out points values, etc.

The Tohaa Starter Box has 3 possible Lieutenants within it(an Ectros Lieutenant, a Sakiel Lieutenant, or a Kamael Lieutenant). Every model barring the Clipsos Infiltrator within the box is Linkable as well.

With just the Starter Box, you're looking at(depending on how you set up the Kamael and the Sakiel) anywhere from 142 points on the high end to 132 points on the lowest end. If you add in the Gao-Rael Sniper you're at 179 points at the high end and 169 points at the lowest end.

Yep, worked this out already.

New guy at the club playing Tohaa will be in for a surprise when the PanO or Yu-jing "starter" armies I match against him outnumber him by a few models.

(He's had an intro game so far (3 models a side), getting him used to the orders/ARO mechanism and die rolls. Next game will add the other models to the group, introduce the Lt order and so on).

I have to say, the Gao-Rael being a linkable unit type is quite intriguing.

And the Clipsos is useable for representing a Tohaa SpecOps, given that is essentially a Kamael with a cloak.

The Tohaa SpecOps figure is supposed to be a December release (january) and is based off the kamael profile anyway.

Got the Tohaa starter myself, and my list came to 149:

Sakiel (LT)
Ectros
Clipsos (minelayer)
Kamael (medic)
Kamael (medic)
Kamael (medic)

Not too shabby with the viral combis to add some punch against other people's starter + support 150 pointers.

Yeah that starter box with a Gao-Rael isn't that bad of a deal, I think.

Gao-Rael are definitely an interesting unit type though. MSV 2 and Symbiont Armour is going to be intriguing.
