This pertains to champions for any squad, but using Havocs as an example:

I know in the codex it says that the champion of the havocs squad can get anything from melee and/or ranged in the wargear list. Now there is no autocannon in the ranged wargear list on page 91. But if you go to the last page which shows all the stats of each ranged and melee weapon, it shows there, but not sure on how many points. Do I just used the same points for the Autocannon as a normal Havoc, or can the champion even use it? I would think that a champion should be able to use more than just a Combi-bolter, -flamer, -melta, -plasma, or plasma pistol.

No the champ can only access what he is allowed on pg 91.

The wargear list is the one with all the points listed for how much they all cost (page 91 I think).

Sorry if you are not looking at the wargear list at the start of the army list section then you are looking at the wrong list of stuff. A champion can only select from the available options on the above list.

Yeah, the back of the book is only a quick reference for various weapons.

The Havoc champ is limited to the weapons in the list with points on it.
