Anyone ever bought or seen some of their trooper figures? I was wondering how they compare to 40k or fantasy scale wise?

Way too small, and not "Heroic" in my opinion, so really just bad all around.
The vehicles are perfect for conversions and bitz though.

Are they too small for IG stand in/proxies?

If anything the figures are too big.

The vehicles need some work to make them fit Heroic scale too. Some detailing is just off. But conversion should see you right

Robogear figures are what you could call heroic 1/48 scale.

They are taller than GW figures by a small amount - not too much (34 mm or so depending on the figure). They are also slimmer in general. The heft of the figures is slightly larger than proper 1/48 scale figures.

The figures themselves are quite differently proportioned, and honestly look pretty crappy. Their guns, backpacks, and armour however make fantastic conversion bits, and theyre worth their cheap price for that alone.

Depends on which ones you are talking about. Tehnolog produced several different sets of figures for the larger Robogear line. Some are actually quite good - others are craptastic.

In particular, the newer figures which are sold under the Бронепехота line are fairly well designed - at least as detailed as any of the metal figures which GW designed.

as opposed to some of the older figures in the Robogear universe like this guy:

Whoa! That's definitely an ugly figure!

Funny thing is though, in many ways - you see some parralells between their figure development and that of GW.

If you take a look back at some of the old Rogue Trader stuff - you see figures who are comparable to the second figure. If you look at the second wave of Tehnolog figures though...they are much better proportioned and detailed. Not too different from what you would get in the late 1990s and early 2000s from GW.

The next batch of figures will probably be comparable to what you are getting from GW now...though Tehnolog remains more focused on children's toys and games.

Wow, those are really nice, considering their other work. I suppose the scale is 1/48?
Otherwise, those would make some nice base models for SoB.

All sort of depends on your perspective I guess.

They are about 36 mm to the top of their head - which is taller by a bit than GW figures. Some of the other lines are comparable though (Anima Tactics, MERC Minis...). For me, they end up being fodder for conversions a bit (there are around 8 sets of figures that are comparable in quality to those girls) - but that is mostly because I have stopped dealing with the mess which is heroic or XX mm gaming figures. It is just too inconsistent and doesn't actually mean anything. Instead, I sculpt, contract or convert figures and vehicles in a proper 1/48 scale.
