i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to base a chaos warrior army that i will be starting soon.

If you have any could you post pictures if possible.

A really simple but effective basing technique is to use builders aggregate instead of sand (it looks more like rubble than most sand does), black undercoat and then drybrush with a dark or mid-tone Gray such as the old Codex Gray. Then add small bits of static grass. You want a dark grass though, rather than a bright green. I use marsh static grass from Gale Force 9. It has little blood red bits that resemble poppies in there to add a slight bit of colour to what would otherwise be a very dark base.

It depends on the look you're going for. I'm personally using GW's texture paints because I find that when you place multiple layers on, with proper control, you can create bases that have depth in its dirt without having to do anything fancy.

if you're willing to dish out for some nice bases, ebay and several sites have some awesome chaos bases!
