Seriously nobody has any comments on this?

I have played around with trying to swap the Blue Scribes for the Herald at the cost of making my two horror squads into one squad of 10 or so.

Battle Barge Impossible Fortress

I use a list like that.

It's good. That's it. : ]

Not a fan of Forgefiends and would prefer x2 Heldrakes, but that is down to personal preference. The key to making Forgefiends work is taking them in pairs.

Personally, I'd try to get Boon of Mutation on the Herald. Sniping Rune Priests, Swarmlords and Eldrad can really help ensure that you can get more Psychic Powers off.

So rock on.

I play in a group with almost no flyers. This has me looking at the Forgefiends over the Helldrakes. The can throw enough shots to provide anti air in a pinch but can focus on hitting armor at range.

Have you considered a disc instead of a chariot on your herald?
With a disc, he can join the flamer squad. Put him in the middle, deepstrike around him, and with the large skimmer base, you should be able to flame somebody with most, if not all, of your flamers first turn.

I did consider that, but the extra wounds on highly mobile platform is just really tempting. I see the herald in this list more as a freelancing choice to hunt targets if priority free from other units.

My list is almost identical, but instead of spawn I run Bikes, throw the sorcerer lord in there and boon the hell out of the biker champ!! Plus the additional attack on the disk sorcerer actually works out very well.

I did look at bikes but the sheer number of wounds the spawn bring as well as possible attack volumn for the cost made me lean that way. This unit I hope to be able to use as a delaying unit to tie up threats or flank into the back field.

I was actually toying with a similar list. However, I had the number of flamers and screamers slightly less, one less squad of T-sons, and changed the forgefiends to Defilers and added a Soul Grinder. (And I think Ahriman instead of generic sorceror).

Otherwise, same concept. T-sons slowly advance. Daemons drop in as needed. Defilers dropping pie plates instead of forgefiends laying down 8 shots a piece. It was more theory than actually playing. I would be curious to see how it does.

I personally like the Blue Scribes. They have all the shooting fun plus pavane, breath, and aura.

Drop the forgefiends for obliterators and plasma cannon + pavane

I won't be trading the Forgefiends for Oblits as I have never like the oblit models.

I have look for ways to use the blue scribes instead of a herald, finding a good way to squeeze the points without hurtin other aspects of the list is where I keep drawing a blank.
