Mortis dreads as in normal dreadnoughts which have two autocannons (or lascannon's etc)? Yep, those are now a standard variant for most SM armies, check your codex to see legal weapon options.
The Mortis Contemptor dreadnought as a forgeworld product requires your opponents permission to use. In most pick up games you should be fine but most tournaments disallow forgeworld. Still check with the organizer. You may also be able to 'count as' it as a normal dreadnought.
They are definitely not in the DA codex (The IA book with them in states are the only chapters allowed to take them), and I'm pretty sure they have not made it into any of the other codices.
They are however quite widely accepted for DA and successor chapters.
Contemptor Mortis can be used by all chapters.
Forgeworld may or may not be allowed at any tournament so check with the TO before trying to use
