So with Vassal 40k being hunted constantly by the inquisition I thought I'd share where to find it and whats going on.

The download link is indeed safe I've never had a problem downloading the module from the links provided on this page. That being said scan before opening because you never know what shenanigans the interwebz can throw at you!

I wish GW would just lay off vassal... or the 40k mod rather since by no means is it a 40k replacement. Its just a good way for isolated players like myself (I live in a bumpkin oil town... funny side note one day I met a fellow 40k gamer here but before we could get a game going his house got quite literally washed away in a flood... then he moved back to Manitoba) who wish to try out new ideas for lists. I know I'm more likely to spend the money on figs if the concept I envision is at least somewhat viable. What seems great on paper doesn't always turn out the way you hope IRL.

Unfortunately things haven't quite been updated to 6th/every unit added so proxy parties are prone to happen but hey its a test ground anyways! takes a few minutes to download an install. just dl (and unzip) the mod file somewhere of your choice and then open up vassal and load the mod from where ever you stuck it. Just take note you have to unzip all the files in the main mod file as there are core files and "extensions" which are all the various army sprites. Share and enjoy!

I get that, honestly, I think if they are going to be all Burn Heretic! on the vassal side, they should just release their own thing like vassal. If it was kept up to date and included everything, I would happily drop some money in the GW vault to use it. It would still be drastically cheaper than actually modeling.
