Hi all, I'm planning on joining a planetary empires campaign at my local GW and I can't decide which army to use. The campaign starts at 500 points and increases as the campaign progresses. The only restriction is the army's warlord has to stay the same throughout the entire campaign, no wargear changes or anything. He even has to keep the same warlord trait throughout.

So far I have decided I'm either going to use my World Eaters or my White Scars and have come up with these lists;

World Eaters

Kharne 160

5 Berserkers + power fist + plasma pistol + veterans of the long war 150

Rhino + dirge casters 40

5 Berserkers + power fist + plasma pistol + veterans of the long war 150

or

White Scars

Chapter master + bike + relic blade + artificer armour 205 (was contemplating Kor'sarro Khan but figured a chapter master would be better)

5 scouts + snipers + missile launcher 85

5 bikes + multi melta attack bike + 2 melta guns 210

Both lists are 500 points exactly and both have decent fluffy warlords who will still be useful in larger games. Both lists are completely different too.

Any thoughts on which I should use? I'm completely torn between the two.

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

A small, damp hole somewhere in England

Both are a little light on troops, but given your your Warlord has to stay the same I'd guess most of your opponents will be in the same position, although guard might give you a hard time.

The Khorne list is a little heavy on the toys, particularly the power fists. You already have Kharn, I'd consider taking more bodies at this low a points value - every space marine will make it that much harder for the enemy to kill. Alternatively get another rhino so your army works better - one foot-slogging and one rhino-based close combat unit do not a happy combination make...

The White Scars are looking better - the biker captain is very expensive for 500 points, but as mentioned above this is probably inevitable. I think he's a better choice than K'Serro Khan - I've just started a White Scars army and found Combat Tactics to be totally awesome! Is there any way you can find the points for hellfire rounds on him?

I could drop a melta gun from the bike squad (leaving them with 1 melta gun and a multi melta) to give him hellfire rounds. Two melta weapons should be enough in a low point game like this as there probably won't be much armour.
