Does Dark Excommunication cancel out Chaos Boons gained by Chaos Champions?
The power says Daemonic Gifts but Boons are gained from the Gods so ...

Boons =/= Daemonic Gifts. Yet.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

This. Daemonic Gifts are specific to units from the Chaos Daemons codex. They are basically weapons and wargear for Daemons.
Also, Dark Excommunication doesn't remove specials rules or invul saves, unless they are granted by Daemonic Gifts.

Actually, I'm pretty sure it'll stay as it is now. How exactly would you handle unspawning or unprinceing something...?

Same way you handle reverting the Transformation of Kadon from WHFB. That said, I do agree that it will likely stay as it is. GK's are already rough to face with chaos marines, lets not make them even better at fighting them shall we?

Somehow doubt this actually, as they didn't hit jack in the old codex either.
