Hey folks!

Was hoping someone could give me a few pointers, I've just started airbrushing and am using Vallejo primer and finding that it dries in the cup really fast and I get a lot of dry tip.
It is designed to use straight out of the bottle for airbrushes, anyone else having this issue/work arounds?

Cheers

Your pressure's probably set too high. It's pretty thin stuff, doesn't need a lot of pressure. I do get tip dry during long sessions, just give the tip a wipe with a wet tissue now and then. Oh short bursts, not long. Psst, psst, psst, not psssssssshhhhhht.

Thanks for the reply, I was only running at about 15 PSI which I though was pretty low?
Short bursts stops as much paint building on the tip I take it?

I use the same vallejo primer (grey) and I don't have this issue, really.

I use the same and when priming I run at 22-25 PSI.

Works like a charm. I do get some dry tips when I am priming but not that often.

Okay thanks everyone for your help, I think I will just have to put it down to the dry heat

I just started using it as well and have used it from 15-25 PSI. I found it better at 15 PSI and I have been using a little of the thinning medium and water with it to help. I find the black primer easier to work with than the white and grey for some reason.
