Hi,

I'm very short on cash atmo so I'm having to sell my space marine army. I'm not sure how to sell it though.

I have 20 nicely painted tactical squad marines and 10 nicely painted assault marines. A nicely painted oop chaplain and oop captain also. And a painted OOP predator.

I also have (unpainted or with a splash of blue):
  • 10 man command squad

  • OOP Librarian

  • OOP Standard Bearer

  • 10 man Devastator squad with OOP Sergeant

  • 6 Tyranid Hunters (Now would be used as some kind of veteran?)

  • A Razorback/Rhino (changeable top)

  • Dreadnaught

  • 5 OOP Assault Termies

  • 5 OOP Terminators (6 but you can't use 2 assault cannons anymore right?)

  • I am wondering how to get the most possible on the sale.

    Do I:
  • Sell all of them as one sale including the case?

  • Sell just the painted ones with the case, and the unpainted separately?

  • Sell individual squads and the case separately?

  • Any ideas from people who have had to sell a few armies already would be greatly appreciated

Post up a list with what you are looking for in the Swap Shop.

Oh and you will make more if you sell them separately by Squad, generally.

It will go faster if you sell them as a lot though.

Painted (unless REALLY well painted) almost always goes for less than unpainted.

    Value goes like this:
NOS/NIB, Unassembled, Assembled Bare, Assembled Primed, Painted

Lastly, make sure to take good pictures and be complete in your descriptions. This will help a lot!

Do as Pretre suggested. Go on Ebay, people sell their armies on Ebay all the time. I would suggest splitting them by squads, painted and unpainted. If they are oop metal, sell them separate as well, will get more for them that way. When I go on there, I look for NIB first before I look for unpainted assembled or painted assembled, but only because I got a bad bunch of figures from someone that didn't have a great picture displayed, and they were horribly assembled.

    Also sell the case separate.

I would recommend against eBay first. My order of operations is my local board for the PNW (ordofanaticus.com), then Dakka, then Bartertown. If I can't sell anything on those three then I would go to eBay, but I have never had to.

    eBay fees suck.

eBay fees arent that bad, considering you have millions of potential buyers on there.

Sure, but if you can avoid those fees and have a mutually agreeable transaction, then you should.

SOme things are better on e-bay. Small 40k lots? Not so much.

Agree. Dakka is free so you might as well give it a shot. Nothing to lose.

Of course its always best to avoid those fees but the chances of making a sale should be quicker.

Agree to disagree then. I find dakka and local to be pretty fast.
