In the warp, searching for Marbo

Was wondering if anyone used markers to signify a models wargear, that doesn't match the current model? Like a blue marker to signify a guardsmen is using a Meltagun as apposed to his model in which he's carrying a Lasgun.

It's probably not allowed in competition, but I was just wondering.

After all these years of searching for Marbo...he found me. Heretics beware! He's back!

Back when I was working out how I wanted to model demo charges out of GS I used one guardsman in each squad modelled with a pack, and just said 'bloke with the pack has the demo charge'. Technically not wysiwyg, but it was distinctive and no one in the army had packs apart from the vets with charges and marbo (who also has a charge) so it wasn't confusing.

I'd probably steer away from using a colour though. Unless you go full hock and have a guy with a bright red helmet amongst a sea of green helmets as 'the guy with the demo charge' or something. That'd be fine with a lot of people I think, but then maybe not ok in tournaments.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Funny you say that; my first guy I painted the usual Cadian colours. The rest of my army is Red armour, and brown fatigues. I even named him Luigi Marius because of the red/green models xD

You you mean an actual marker on the ground next to the model?

Because that wouldn't work very well. It would end up wondering around the squad to different models no matter how hard you tried to keep track of it.

Not to mention it doesn't help your opponent - they then have another thing to keep track of - guys with blue markers have meltaguns, guys with red have grenade launchers, etc.

Just try your best to model upgrades. Your opponents will thank you.
