The Fluff:
Near the galactic center lies the ancient and obscure Hellion system. One of the few super-systems in the galaxy, Hellion defies even the great knowledge of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Surrounded by 12 equidistant suns, a single titanic planet sits in the middle known as Hellion Prime. Discovered in the early years of the Great Crusade, the Hellion system was quickly glossed over, its barren desserts of sand and titanic mountains of stone making it uninhabitable, even with its earth-like atmosphere. Now, in the present days of the Imperium, a group of rogue traders banded together to mine large deposits of valuable minerals found deep inside the planet, using the seemingly natural planet encompassing tunnels located beneath the surface. However, deep below the surface, they have awoken a force that would have been best left alone. Now, well rested and reinvigorated with the biomass and resources of rogue traders, Hive Fleet Grootslang awakens its forces and looks to the skies for the key to its eventual escape.

This is my army of Tyranids that I plan to develope into a force complete driven towards close combat. Updates will come soon as I manage to get more units completed. I really wanted to push for a Tyranid army that could just blend into the sand and rocks, and dissapear.

Looking good mate, just perhaps try a bit better lighting for the model.
Its a little "yellowish".

On the lighting, I have been experimenting with different forms. I found a simple shiny paper plate, with the object to the front, and a nice little lamp overhead at an angle were some of the best lighting options I had on short notice. And you are correct on the yellow color. The chitin is actually Averland Sunset, or Lyanden Darksun in the old paint scheme.

I have found pure natural light as the best for taking pics - near a window or even outside can help

Grootslang? What is a Grootslang?

The Grootslang, technically. It's an ancient mythological reptile/snake that lives in caves deep underground protecting caves of solid diamond in Africa. It fit my theme and the general naming convention of the hive fleets perfectly.

a great way to get good lighting when you take a picture to avoid that yellowing is to get a bright light (i use a 20dollar walmart LED light thats about 2inch wide) and shine it straight up at a white surface (paper for instance) so it bounces back at the model. It moves most of the light, but gets rid of that annoying "bright spot"
