DMR if you ask me...
That said it's moot point because neither of them are fully automatic so they both suck.

For single player/co-op BR, for MP probably DMR.

Just because they aren't automatic doesn't mean they suck. Sure the AR will destroy them close range but it wouldn't anything at mid to long range.

Battle Riffle all the way. Also one thing i noticed was that the Assault riffle seems very lack luster and useless compared to other Halo games.

DMR from me.

While I tend to use the DMR in multiplayer, they're both roughly equivalent and proficient IMO. For spartan ops, I've got both equipped via the firepower offensive perk. Only the finest in precision UNSC weaponry for this Spartan IV!

IMO it was always gak, completely useless in campaign anyway. It's never really had any use.

It's a great close-in weapon.

That's why people invented shotguns, boltshots and scatterguns.

Hell, almost every weapon still outdamages those even at close range purely because of headshot capabilities.

I think the DMR is personally better. and It's the best gun in the game. Its the most versatile gun in the game. But nothing beats the Halo 3 BR.

I'm a real fan of the Suppressor. That thing just munches folks.

But out of the two, I like the DMR more than the BR.

Suppressor is pretty nice, good rate of fire but doesn't seem to do a lot of damage. Either way, it looks nice

Haven't really used the DMR in MP just went straight on the BR. The major advantage of the BR is the 'Overlap' between the end of their shield and the head shot, due to the 3-round burst. Means you can kill a little quicker and dont panic about scoring the head-shot after the shields go like in Reach with the DMR (Over 95% of my BR kills are headshots so far.).

I would say the dmr is probably a little more accurate but handles a little worse if they come in closer or start strafing. in other words it retains it's medium to long range role from Reach. BR is medium range only imo, and medium is the most common range. DMR also gets Raped by auto aim sometimes.

As for the assault i would say it's a little too good, as the flesh part of your health is much less than it was in reach, which decreases the necessity of the skilled headshot.

I'm in love with the storm rifle, that thing burns through people.

My favorite loadout is the shotgun + BR mix, has been since halo 1. (Except I had a pistol instead of a BR)
In Reach it was the DMR, which i hated in comparison to the BR. the three round burst is more of my thing and I can hold my own with it and the shotgun, sorry assault rifle sucks in comparison best load-out in my opinion.

(in odst I just kept the regular ODST weapons because they are the best weapons in halo ever!)

You can't put a shotgun in your load out though.

I hate those that camp with it. Real men use it to kick ass!

I hate all variants of the Shotgun in any FPS.

I hate shotguns too. Ill use them but Ill complain about it the whole time.

Im a rifleman, I like midrange combat. Snipers are too far, SMGs and Shotguns are too close, Machine Guns too inaccurate

I liked The conc rifle in reach, but it seems to have lost some teeth in Halo 4.

My fav weapons for MP now are storm rifle, stickyshot, shotgun and SAW.

Though to be fair, I only really play dominion and flood.

I use the BR the vast majority of the time, only on large open maps, like Ragnarok or Complex, do I take the DMR for my primary.
