This wednesday we wrapped up our SBH campaign on what is probably the best terrain setup we've ever had. We never got to have a proper ending to our summer campaign so we decided to give it full bore sendoff. Though two other members had run the campaign, they let me organize and run the Finale.

Two of the players from our summer campaign played warbands fighting to reach -and them fighting over- a dark elf war galley (graciously loaned by a member who couldn't attend), the last remaining way off the doomed island that ws the setting for the campaign.

Full writeup (thanks to another member), lots of pics and even a short video of the terrain setup here:

Of course I wouldn't dream of begging you to visit our blog without a few suitably impressive teaser pics...

It was a great game, and a great chance to showcase the massive amount of terrain we built over the course of the campaign.

Wow, impressive scenery! Are those porcelain holiday houses repurposed?

Thanks!
Except for a pair of my friend's wargame buildings, the rest are indeed christmas houses with a bit of paint touchup, a dip and flocking.

You can see a tutorial on them here:

and a few more and some bridges here:

The town/castle walls are built from a cheap walgreens toy. I hope to have a few more pics and a how-to about them up soon.

Fantastic stuff. I'm hoping for my first game of SBH (Song of Blades and Heroes, to anyone uncertain at this point) on Wednesday. Time to crack out the fantasy stuff!

Glad you folks enjoyed it.

Precinct Omega, I hope you enjoy your first game. It's a very different type of game, but a ton of fun. Beware though, it's openended-ness is a bit addictive in that it lets you pursue virtually any fantasy miniature project or collection as part of the game.

All those fantasy figs you thought were cool, but didn't buy because you didn't have a game for them....
