If I were to clip a warscythe at the tip of the rod between the blade and the rod, and turn the blade 90 degrees to make it look more like an actual scythe, would it still count as a Necron Warscythe.

I have an idea in starting up a Necron army that is Grim Reaper / Death themed.

Yup that would be perfectly fine. It would actually be more of a scythe than the things they have now that in my (non expert) opinion are halberds. Do post pictures of the conversion! Sounds neat

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high

I saw a veryyyy cool conversion for a warscythe where they used the talons from wraiths to make a scythe blade, and then clipped the head of the warscythe.
T'was quite cool
