Been Around the Block

Hello, so I've been thinking for a long time about doing a warriors of chaos infantry. The thing I love and look for in any army is the core troop.

I feel that the regular warriors of chaos are very lacking. They are all static and similar looking. They don't have any real "life" to them.

Anyone have any good ideas on how to perhaps convert the models or perhaps use models from another model range entirely?

Thanks.

I definitely know what you mean by lacking! After obtaining around 250 of them they seemed kind of dull, and since I was dividing them up between armies, I decided that needed some fixing.
So if you're looking to convert them, here's a few ideas. Honestly, I feel even just a simple headswap like on my Slaanesh Warriors goes a long way with giving them character.
There's many more pictures on my blog if you want to see more (especially for the Khorne Warriors, you can definitely tell how diverse they become with all the different legs).

The will-be Khorne warrior is converted from gors/warriors, and the Slaanesh one, as said, is just a simple headswap to give it that Slaanesh feel!

I used these guys as my chosen of nurgle - the Rackham models are much more dynamic.

The rest of the range has some wonderfully weird and chaotic sculpts as well, although it didn't give a very GW feel to the army.

Don't forget Tre Manor's fantastic HelsVakt! They make excellent proxy for Chaos Warriors. The Hordesmen (marauders), the Gynnade Krigare (Chaos Warriors), the HelRiders (Chaos mounted warriors) come with exchangable weapons, arms, heads, so they can mave several different poses.

Hordesmen

Gynnade krigare

Command group of Gynnade krigare

Varp krigare (proxy heroes?)

Various champions, heroes, sorceress, general, etc.

These should all soon be available from Red Box Games. Tre has finished a KS where he re-tooled these from metal to plastic! Check 'em out at his Facebook page!

Oops, sorry for posting the half-naked woman twice.

But these badboys more than well could be assembled into a awesome looking chaos warriors warband for sure!

Be aware that Tre Manor's miniatures are on the small side, 28mm non-heroic. So test them first, barbarians might be bigger.

Ye, good point Kroothawk. If someone wants to mix with existing GW or other ranges, then they should check the net for size comparision.

But doing an entire army of them, without mixing, shouldn't be a problem.
