Hey guys,

So I'm making some good progress making my Traitor IG Army. Really excited, almost every model in the army is a conversion, things are going well.

I wanted to make an army for an upcoming narrative-driven campaign a friend and I are having. It's not supposed to represent an army as much as a insurgency/rebel force, and I've modelled it as such.

So for my list, please remember that it's not 100% about winning. It's supposed to have a good balance of fluff with competitiveness.

-HQ-

Lord Commissar, leader of the resistance. Personality and model inspired by Bane from Dark Knight Rises.

Plasma Pistol, Power Weapon, Camo Cloak

Total: 100 pts

-Elites-

Stormtrooper Squad, operatives who have been extensively trained by the Alpha Legion themselves.

10 Stormtroopers
Sergeant has Boltgun and Plasma Pistol
Plasma Gun
Grenade Launcher

Total: 195

-Troops-

Veteran Squad, defected veterans who retain their experience and skills, now fighting for Chaos

x3 Plasma Guns
Sergeant has Plasma Pistol
Forward Sentries (still up in the air on which to pick. I felt like this was the best for an Alpha-Legion fueled insurgency)

Total: 155

Second Veteran Squad, Equipped the same way

Total: 155

Infantry Platoon, representing a local militia

PCS - x4 Plasma Guns, Boltgun for PC

Total: 92

Commissar: 35

Infantry Squad
Plasma Gun
Missile Launcher

Total: 80

Infantry Squad
Plasma Gun
Missile Launcher

Total: 80

Infantry Squad
Plasma Gun
Missile Launcher

Total: 80

Infantry Squad
Plasma Gun
Missile Launcher

Total: 80

20 Conscripts, which are pretty crucial for the feel of the army I feel like. Represent random civilians who are pissed off showing up to help the fight.

Total: 80

Heavy Weapons Squad

x3 heavy bolters

Total: 75

Special Weapons Squad

x3 grenade launchers

Total: 50

TOTAL: 1,257

So I need to shave a thing or two off, but for the most part it's complete.

This army is already built for the most part, so what I'm really looking for are tactics to use it, as well as where to build from here.

Remember that fluff is a priority. Thanks gang!

WAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!!

Same way that medieval knights used their peasants: Meatshields. I'd suggest bubble wrapping your heavier units in conscripts etc or at least make a human screen, keep the plasma in the middle to keep their targeting flexible, then depending on how your opponent deployed, HB and nades left/right

Flying V formation is always fun too
